What does a Course Design Review entail? A Course Design Review offers an optional assessment. In this process, a Learning Designer conducts a comprehensive review of a chosen course, aligning with the Online Course Development Standards. Faculty members opting for a course design review actively seek valuable insights and recommendations to enhance the overall flow and design of their digital course materials.
Once the course review has been done the Learner Designer will provide the faculty member with recommendations.

The Online Course Development Standards provide guidelines to assist with creating high-quality online courses. You can use the site when designing and developing new online courses, reviewing a previously developed online course, or providing ideas for revising an existing online course.
The site has been divided into six sections: Course Overview & Information, Navigation & Layout, Community & Interaction, Assessment of Learning, Accessibility, and Diversity Equity & Inclusion. Each section provides information about the standard is important and how it tips for how it can be applied to your online class.
The standards were developed utilizing OSCQR SUNY Online Course Quality Review Rubric, Quality Matters Higher Education Rubric Standards, Creative Commons CAS Online and Academic Technology (2018), Peralta Online Equity Rubric (2020), Canvas Course Evaluation Checklist (2018), Blackboard Exemplary Course Program Rubric (2017), QOCI Rubric and Checklist University of Illinois Online Network (2019), and 体育菠菜大平台 Online Online Course Development Checklist which are based on research in online instruction and instructional design. The Online Course Development Standards were developed to provide a guide to online course design.
